Medals are awards featured in the Battlefield Series that are obtained and provide additional experience upon the completion of specific tasks. They can be viewed by other players via BFHQ, Battlelog, or third-party websites dedicated to showing player stats.
Medals are awards featured in Battlefield 2.
Medals are awards featured in Battlefield 2142 are earned through various combinations of Badges, time requirements, kill streaks, and Pins. The top three players in a match also each earn a medal. The Purple Heart medal is given to players who after 20 deaths have a kill/death ratio under 1:5.
Medals do not award career points.
Medals featured in Battlefield 3 are awarded for earning a certain number of Ribbons, weapon specific kills, or satisfying a time requirement. All Medals award 10,000 XP and serve as both a reward for and an incentive to obtain the same ribbon multiple times. Medals can be earned multiple times by constantly meeting its requirements.

Medals return in Battlefield 4, functioning similar to their Battlefield 3 counterparts. There are currently a total of forty-five medals, each corresponding to the forty-five ribbons. All Medals are unlocked after obtaining a specific ribbon fifty times and can be obtained an infinite number of times.
